Future of Icarus Tours

We have recently discussed the future of Icarus Tours, with my partners, and I’d like to share those revelations with our guests and future guests.  We have decided that there are two priorities in the next year.  First, run the best Teton Con yet.  Second, offer a second trip.

Teton Con 2015 is our priority and we plan on using about 80% of our time and resources to promoting it and improving it.  Our goal is to hit 50 guests.  With our current registration ahead of previous years and our strong improvements in advertising and social media we are confident that we can make this happen.  Having had 30 and 40 guests in previous years and based on previous guest’s input, we think 50 is the perfect number.  Plenty of people to play with, but a small enough group that no one gets lost in the crowd.  Should we hit the limit early in registration we may consider expanding it to 60 guests, but only time will tell.  We have a number of special guests that we are in the process of discussing details of having them at the event.  We believe we truly have something special with Teton Con and it is our #1 priority.

We plan on designing another event, but plan on going about it a little differently than in the past.  We hope to use our contests to get community feedback to help determine the location, time of year and included events.  We will have a future blog about the process we plan on using to best get the community’s input.  Expect that in a few weeks.  We have never envisioned Icarus Tours as a one event business, but we want to make sure that moving forward with any future events that they share the special qualities of Teton Con.

To help promote both of these processes, we are expanding the list of conventions that we plan on attending/exhibiting.  Details are not final but we are looking at DunDraCon in the San Francisco area and BGGCON in Texas.  This is in addition to Salt Lake Comic Con and GenCon 2015.
